State-of-the-Art Technlogy

Analytical Testing

The Analytical Testing Laboratory primarily performs research and development testing, as well as analysis testing to resolve material-related issues. The most common tests include material composition, base resin identification, additive analysis, weatherability, and characterization of the thermal and dynamic properties of a material. All testing is performed according to the specified ASTM, ISO or other standard test method.

Color Development

The Color Development Laboratory develops custom colors for all color concentrates and pre-colored compounded products, taking care to work with each customer to understand the specific application and color requirements. Our Color Development team also supports our manufacturing facilities with new color scale-ups and color-related issues. Equipped with the latest technology and vast expertise, our Color Development Lab is uniquely equipped to develop new, quality color products and evaluate and qualify new pigments.

Mechanical Testing

The Mechanical Testing Lab performs all physical and mechanical property testing on outgoing finished products, new developmental products and incoming raw materials. Working 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Mechanical Lab is able to provide responsive turnaround times for all customers, as well as accommodate flexible product shipping schedules.

Accreditation

Washington Penn has three laboratories located in the Arden division: Mechanical Testing, Analytical Testing, and Color Development. Each has been accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) since 1997.
